The Wellington Public Library has been rockin’ the summer reading program theme “Libraries Rock” with many different activities and programs, including a songwriting workshop on June 16.
Two local musicians, Skeet Sirmons and Greg Ewing, led a team in the creation of a song they titled “Libraries Rock” by brainstorming different words and phrases associated with libraries. Participants included Amber Schmitz, Cathy Creamer, Jim Bales, Jennifer Newland, Braden Struble & Shirley Hensley.
A keyboard and guitars provided music for the lyrics. Sirmons mixed the recording with other music and instruments, creating a more professional sounding piece.
